It is Robert's birthday today! August 12th!
Father God, I thank you for Robert and his amazing family! I would ask that You bless him today in an extra special way, as he celebrates his birthday. He is Your servant and desires to do Your will at all times. I pray for the work in Portugal, that You might continue to lead in the new endeavors and continued wisdom in all the decisions. Bless his family with health and strength. May Robert be blessed with many more years! In Jesus' name, Amen.
Take time to send Robert a birthday message today and make his day even more special!

Missionary Conference
Robert had the opportunity to go to Alcantarilha, Spain and visit the church there and participate in the Missionary Conference. Visiting with Pastor Eric and sharing the Word with the congregation were great times.

Visitors from the USA
We always welcome groups or families or interns to join us in sharing the Gospel of Christ with those who don't know. We had a group come and share with us this Spring that not only worked in Carcavelos, but also had the opportunity to minister in Spain. It is refreshing to work with young people and share their enthusiasm. The Great Commission in action!

The Leadership and important prayer requests!
Meet the Leadership of the church in Carcavelos. From left to right: Ricardo and Wasth - Dick and Sarah - Wilson and Elsa - and Robert and Derlani.
Robert sent some very important prayer requests for you to add to your prayer lists:
Please continue to pray for the Leadership of the various churches in Portugal and Spain. Remember the Missionaries and their families as well! God is in control!
Robert sent some very important prayer requests for you to add to your prayer lists:
The prime-minister of Portugal has delivered his resignation because the parliament would not approve another change in the budget. However, José Socrates will remain in office until anticipated elections take place early in June. And he will probably run again for office. . .
The instability and the uncertainty of the social and political situation and the economy have affected the country as a whole, including the churches. While such difficult times usually make people more receptive to the Good News as they gradually lose hope in everything else, the churches here suffer from the lack of adequate finances. Unemployment tends to grow. Brazilian immigrants, among others, are giving up and returning to their countries.. . .
The church in Girona (Spain ) had to leave the space they had been renting for the last couple of years because the Bank shut it down. Although the owner of the space received rent every month, he failed to pay the mortgage, unfortunately. The congregation is splitting the rent with another congregation now but going through this has been quite discouraging for those who had been attending up to this point. Despite the crisis in the economy and constant changes, the members had given time, energy and finances to bettering the rented space for the ministry and were excited about it. Please pray for the preacher Hernane and his wife Vera as they continue to reach out to the lost in what is probably the most secularized part of Spain .

Christmas, New Year's and Ministry
Derlani was able to go to Brazil and spend Christmas with her parents and her brothers and sister and their families. It was a great time of celebration and joy together!
Christmas and New Year's in Portugal were wonderful too! There were programs and celebrations there as well.
The youth participated in a program called "The Dream Machine" and came away challenged and encouraged for evangelism and missions. Let's remember them in our prayers as they work together and encourage each other. They are the future Church!
At the end of January, Derlani was able to share and minister to a Ladies Group in Santarem. It was a time of challenge , encouragement and christian growth.
The ladies participated in the session!
The last Saturday of February we were able to meet in Sao Marcos with a group of women from three different churches. It was a time of encouragement for the women as they walk daily in Christ and live the Christian Life!
